2023 Election: Another PDP chieftain shot dead in Ebonyi

In Ebonyi State, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agent was assassinated by suspected political thugs.

On March 18, 2023, thugs assaulted an Onicha Local Government Area voting place and shot and killed Oyibo Nwani, an election agent for the governorship and House of Assembly.

The PDP governorship candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Odii, resides in the Onicha LGA.

The thugs apparently arrived to steal ballot boxes, but young people reportedly made desperate attempts to thwart them.

Nwani was a victim of stray gunfire during attacks by gunmen, according to State Police Command spokesperson SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who verified the killing.
