A doctor was brutally attacked by relatives of a patient inside Al-Mizan Hospital, Hebron, West Bank, Asia, after they were informed of her death , allegedly due to cancer.
The attack occurred at 11:46 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, according to security camera footage from the medical center.
The images, which have been shared on social media, show at least three men chasing the doctor and hitting him with punches and kicks.
The doctor tried to evade the attack and take refuge inside the facilities of the assistance center, but the enraged men managed to catch him and knocked him to the ground.
Hospital staff tried to intervene to stop the attack, but were initially unable to contain the assailants.
More hospital employees were assaulted
Seconds later, the doctor managed to crawl away, but the attackers continued to chase him to another area of the hospital, where another health professional was also punched in the face.
A security guard also tried to intervene; however, he was pushed by one of the attackers and fell to the ground.
According to preliminary reports, there were also attacks against nursing staff , however, these have not been reported on social media so far.
The images cut off without revealing the outcome of the attack, as the doctor fled to another area of the hospital, followed by the enraged youths.
The doctor involved suffered serious injuries , while the incident caused moments of panic among patients, staff, and visitors at the hospital.
So far, no detailed official report has been issued on what happened, nor has the identity of the attackers been confirmed . They allegedly reacted after receiving news of the death of a family member from cancer.
