Pastor arrested despite having multiple marriages and preaching loyalty

Pastor Leslie Williams , 62, was arrested on bigamy charges . Williams, who ironically built his career on promoting monogamy and family values, is accused by authorities of maintaining multiple wives simultaneously.

The arrest took place on April 22 in a residential community for people over 55 in Florida, where Williams led his own church and conducted religious activities for the residents.

There was an arrest warrant out for him issued in Georgia on April 3, and the state is now requesting his extradition to face justice.

He had a book that preached faithfulness

Williams’ arrest has caused shock due to his public profile. The pastor is the author of the book “Love Her Like This: Love Has Never Been So Deep ,” a work that addresses marriage from a biblical perspective.

In its pages, Williams fervently promotes monogamy and proposes strengthening marital bonds through commitment, absolute fidelity, and mutual understanding.

For years, the religious leader gained notoriety for his sermons focused on loyalty within the home. However, investigations suggest that, while preaching these values, he allegedly violated his own principles in his private life.

The clue on social media

One of the incidents that drew attention to his behavior occurred last December, when Williams posted on his Facebook account that he had married a woman identified as Cindi. In the post, the pastor thanked his followers for their congratulations and highlighted a comment that indicated he now seemed “a different man.”

After being linked to the bigamy case by Georgia police, Williams is currently being held in custody in Florida without bail . His transfer to Georgia to begin formal legal proceedings is expected to be completed in the coming days.

This case adds to other recent scandals involving religious leaders in the region, reminding us that, at times, fame and charisma in the pulpit can hide personal realities that contradict the dogmas taught to the faithful.
