Any Person Who Unlawfully Kills An Animal Is Liable To Imprisonment - SP Hundeyin
The Police PPRO in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has stated that any person who unlawfully killed an animal is liable to imprisonment in Nigeria.
He made the assertions via a post on his popular microblogging website, Twitter.
In a post tagged with the headline “Injuring animals”, The SP wrote: ” Any person who willfully and unlawfully kills, Maims or wounds any animals capable of being stolen is guilty as an offense”.
According to PRO Hundeyin, such an individual is guilty of a felony and is liable to seven years imprisonment.
This portion of the law is quite intriguing as Animal brutality is not categorized as a minor offence in Nigeria.
