Big Wiz grew bigger for having Fela Vibe – Akon
Akon said Wizkid activated his growth when he decided to employ a bit of the legendary Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s style.
He made this known while speaking in an interview about PSquare’s break out into global music stage as a duo and Wizkid’s growth as a solo artiste.
Akon said Starboy Wizkid began to grow bigger and hasn’t stopped because he possesses the ‘Whole Fela Vibe.’
“PSquare ended up becoming the poster children of Africa at that time as a group. They were the biggest, streaming, selling all of that. But that was us pushing that.
“As that went more popular, Wizkid as a solo artiste just became bigger and bigger because he had the whole Fela vibe,” the 49-year-old music executive said.
