Brighton Secures European Football Qualification For The First Time In Club's History
English Premier Side, Brighton And Hove Albion have secured a European football qualification for the first time in the history of the club.
The Seagulls, who have enjoyed an impressive season under Manager Roberto De Zerbi achieved this massive feat after defeating already relegated Southampton 3-1 at the Ammex on Saturday afternoon.
After the win over the Saints and due to their superior goal difference, they are all but set to finish in the Premier League top six which guarantees Europa League qualification.
Exactly 40 years since their only major final appearance in the FA Cup when defeated by Manchester United, this was a historic day for a football club that avoided relegation from the football league on the final day of the 96/97 season with a 1-1 draw that sent Hereford down on goal difference.
Their rise has been astronomical under the ownership of Tony Bloom.
This represents a huge achievement for the club, players, and coach Roberto de Zerbi, who led his side to the FA Cup semifinals this season before they lost to Manchester United on penalties.
