UK prime minister, Rishi Sunak has congratulated Nigerian President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his Electoral victory.

In a post obtained on the British PM Twitter handle, Mr sunak expresses his hope that both countries can continue a strong relationship.

“Congratulations to @officialABAT on his victory in Nigeria”. He wrote.

“The UK-Nigeria relationship remains strong. I look forward to working together to grow our security and trade ties, opening up opportunities for businesses and creating prosperity in both our countries”. He concluded.

Bola tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state was announced the winner of the presidential election by INEC. The election was keenly contested between his party APC and other opposition parties.
