There were celebrations as All Nigerian U-17 players successfully passed the compulsory MRI tests ahead of the AFCON in Algeria.

Panic became the order of the day when it was announced that any national team that has above four players who failed the age-determining test will be disqualified from participating in the tournament.

The invention and introduction of MRI tests in African football are to curb the common incidence of fielding overaged players at junior tournaments. This has worked to a great effect, and teams are allowed to have a level playing ground and fair play is ensured.
