“The relationship and the communication is very good with the owners and the sporting directors. Now we need to work on recovering Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja, but also identify how to improve the team [in January].”

On Cole Palmer:

“I’m so happy with Cole Palmer’s performance. After only a few weeks with us he was able to perform very well. For sure he has a possibility to start on Monday.”

“Why didn’t we sign another Reece James and Ben Chilwell? Because there is only one Reece James and one Ben Chilwell. The club tried with Malo Gusto.”

On injuries due to more games being played:

“We cannot limit players’ playing time. If they want to play, you cannot say no. It’s very complicated. It’s a private conversation with the FA and Premier League.”

“It’s still a few days and I still need to assess the squad before making a decision [on whether to play a striker or not against Fulham].”
