Dem remove my song online but I still dey go shows for Germany – Carter Efe

Nigerian content creator cum singer, Carter Efe has broken silence following reports that his smash hit single, Machala was removed from global streaming platforms.

The comic act had recorded and released a tribute song to his role model, Wizkid which he titled Machala, but on Friday, it was reported that his song was taken down from Apple Music and Spotify.

He reacted to the development during an Instagram live session, noting that though he is not happy that it happened, he is however, not fazed as that won’t stop him.

Carter Efe first took to his official Twitter page to react with a short tweet that read; ”It’s well”.

However, during an interview on Instagram live, the Machala crooner said that the removal from his song is not a setback as he is still being booked for shows in Germany.

He said; “Dey done remove my song from Apple Music ooo but dem still dey carry me for Germany shows. Even though make dem delete the song e no concern me.”

CorrectNG reported earlier that Carter Efe had achieved a historic feat with his tribute song to Afrobeats singer, Wizkid.

Efe, who recently announced a switch from comedy to music, reacted to the achievement via his Twitter page with a screenshot of the Billboard Chart.

He released Machala on the 29th of July, and it debuted at the 14th position of 50 on the afrobeat charts, alongside songs by top stars like Burna Boy, Davido, Rema and his idol Wizkid.

Berri Tiga also took to his social media page to share his excitement while thanking fans for the support.

Billboard, in partnership with Afro Nation, launched the first-ever United States chart for Afrobeats music in March 2022.

Despite the massive rave and positive reviews the song has been getting , Wizkid has not responded officially to his tribute song.

Godson, an aide to Wizkid, however promised Carter that he would perform Machala, with the superstar.

He made the promise to Carter during an Instagram live session, weeks after lambasting him for recording and dedicating a song to Wizkid.

Godson has said that he will ensure the skit-maker performs the song alongside Big Wiz on an international stage.
