Dino Melaye Wins Kogi PDP Governorship Primary Election

Nigerian outspoken politician and former member of the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye has emerged winner of the Kogi state PDP Governorship primary election.

Senator Melaye secured 313 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Idoko Ilonah, who scored 124 votes.

Dino is regarded as one of the key cogs of the People’s Democratic party as he served as spokesman for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar during the last general elections.

He will challenge Ahmed Ododo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the governorship election scheduled to take place on November 11, 2023.
