Divock Origi Still Disappoints Me – Liverpool Legend, Michael Owen after Liverpool’s 1-0 win Over Wolves

Michael Owen

Liverpool legend, Michael Owen, has insisted that he is disappointed by the club’s hero against Wolves on Saturday, Divock Origi.

The Belgium international came on in the second half to score the winner for Liverpool in the stoppage time. Despite that, Owen said he remains to be fully convinced by the striker.

Origi has again been forced to settle for a bit-part role under Jurgen Klopp this season but enhanced his cult hero status with the 94th-minute goal that sent the Reds, temporarily, top of the table for some minutes.

Jurgen Klopp’s were settling for a stalemate but Origi came up trumps again to save the day on what was his 100th substitute appearance for the Reds.

Owen said he is often left disappointed when the Belgian is included in Klopp’s starting line-up.

He said, “Whenever he starts, I must admit he disappoints me. You’ll say what about Barcelona in the Champions League and things like that.

“Of course, he’s had the most unbelievable moments in a red shirt but overall when he starts he disappoints me. Overall, I think he’s an impact player but he might get a few more starts now.”
