Arsenal kept their title hopes alive by easing past struggling London rivals, Chelsea by 3 goals to 1 at the Emirates/on Tuesday evening.

Gunners midfield maestro, Martin Odegaard opened the scoring and completed a brace in 13 first-half minutes before Gabriel Jesus added a third before half-time.

The blues on their part, who were lethargic in the opening exchanges offered more resistance after the break and prevented a more one-sided scoreline with Noni Madueke’s consolation goal midway through the second half.

However, securing the three important points was never in doubt for Arsenal who suffered a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of City six days ago, a result that placed the title initiative firmly in the grasp of Pep Guardiola’s champions.

Arsenal has now moved back above City by two points at the top of the Premier League, having played two games more than the Manchester side.
