There will be protracted negotiations because Chelsea, led by co-owner Todd Boehly, is desperate to get Brazilian forward Raphinha but is not yet prepared to pay Barcelona’s asking price.

After a poor 2022–2023 season, Chelsea sees the chance to snag Raphinha and rejuvenate their team.

Chelsea’s serious interest and Barcelona’s failed gamble have set the ground for an exciting summer transfer war.

Raphinha’s move to Barcelona from Leeds United was a risky endeavour as the Blaugrana shelled out a whopping €58 million for his services.

Expectations soared for the winger but he has been unable to make a consistent impact, despite respectable stats of nine goals and nine assists.
