The incident occurred on\u00a0<\/span>Monday, April 20,<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0when the health professional was traveling in her vehicle with another woman, amidst an active police chase in the northern part of the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

Confusion during operation ended in tragedy<\/span><\/h4>\n

According to initial reports, the events originated after the theft of a truck in the community of\u00a0<\/span>Totomoxtle<\/span><\/strong> , where armed individuals allegedly attacked security personnel and placed tire spikes on the road to slow down patrols.<\/span><\/p>\n

The chase extended to the vicinity of toll booth number 13, in the municipality of Tihuatl\u00e1n, where the agents mistakenly identified a\u00a0<\/span>Volkswagen Tiguan<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0truck , similar to the stolen vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n

At that moment, the police opened fire on the unit, hitting the two occupants.<\/span><\/p>\n

The doctor died at the scene.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Dr.\u00a0<\/span>Burciaga Mor\u00e1n<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0died at the scene due to the severity of the gunshot wounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her companion survived the attack, but had to be rushed to a hospital in Tuxpan, where she remains under medical care.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the chase, the criminals threw tire spikes on the road, causing damage to multiple private vehicles and emergency vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n
