Harden’s status with the 76ers has been in limbo since the start of last season, when rumors swirled that the beard was planning to reunite with the Houston Rockets. Since then, Harden’s plans have changed, and he now reportedly has the Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks as his next targets.
According to “The Athletic” reporter Kelly Iko (Kelly Iko), Jalen Green’s remarks on Paul George’s podcast “Podcast P” were a big reason for Harden’s decision not to consider the Rockets. Iko reiterated that Harden was put off when Green doubted the ten-time All-Star’s fit for the team.
“[James Harden] found out about Jalen’s podcast with Paul George, and he didn’t really like some of the things that Jalen Green said…[Jalen] said, ‘It’s probably a good thing, too. Possibly a bad thing,’ “Not particularly fond of [James],” Iko explained.
To be fair, George just asked him a question, and he answered the Rockets 21-year-old guard as honestly as he could. Green knows his team is currently in a rebuilding phase, having just hired a new coach and assembled a core.
Knowing that Harden is in the midst of a yearly championship contender in his career, Green candidly reiterated that Harden’s return to Houston could be both beneficial and detrimental to his personal development.
“I think it can go both ways. It can help and hurt at the same time. I haven’t spoken to him much about these rumours, and I agree with you.”
