Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta has given an update as it concerns the current situation of Ousmane Dembele at the club.

Laporta was speaking in a press conference as it concerns the investigation of the club’s financial status during the concluded 2020/21 football season.

We think Ousmane Dembele has an agreement in place with another club. He did not want to leave in January. It is really difficult to understand his position, makes no sense for him and for the club.

The French winger has been in the middle of his contract saga since the summer transfer window in 2021.

According to reports, Barcelona wants the player to take a pay cut in his new contract but the French winger is not interested in taking a pay cut.

Dembele is in the final few months of his contract and he will leave as a free agent if he decides not to renew the contract at the end of the season.
