In addition to her outstanding singing career, Katie actively supports charities across the country and enriches various events with her performances. She has further demonstrated her commitment to making a positive impact in the community by winning key ambassadorships for respected organizations such as the Prince’s Trust, Born Free, Children’s Air Ambulance and Sponsor Stars.
VOCES8’s musical director has created an album of arias, spirituals and musical theater songs, and he also recorded Katie’s self-titled EP. The album was recorded in London with the Kent Symphony Orchestra and mastered by Simon Gibson at Abbey Road Studios. Katie is in good company, and Simon Gibson has also remastered Maria Callas’ full studio recordings.
Katie’s first EP was recorded in 2014 accompanied by the British Film Orchestra. Barnaby Smith of VOCES8 produced, with mastering by the award-winning Simon Gibson of Abbey Road Studios. John Brenning (Classic FM Drive) sent her the sheet music of his “Pie Jesu” for her to sing, and a duet version was recorded with Grammy Award-winning artist Paul Phoenix (King’s Singers). The original song is called “Per Aspera” and was written by Katie and composer Andrew Jones.
Katie was invited to sing on the Warner Music album “Christmas at Downton Abbey” (2014). Katie was excited when she was asked to sing the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas” with Downton Abbey and Broadway actor Julian Ovenden. Julian Ovenden plays Charles Blake in Downton Abbey (Lady Mary’s Suitor), produced by acclaimed producer Nick Patrick.
