The candidates were announced at an event on March 18, 2023, and Nigerians received nods in the category of Best African Artist.
For his verse on King Promise’s “Ten Toes,” Omah Lay received a nomination for Best Collaboration. Mayorkun received a nomination for his work on Camidoh’s “Sugarcane” remix.
Yemi Alade received a nomination for “Dumebi,” her collaboration with Mzvee.
