Two young cousins shot themselves
dead after one shot and killed the
other, according to police. At a
birthday party Friday at the St. Louis
apartment, the family called it an
“unusual accident.”

Paris Harvey, 12, and Cuaron Harvey,
14, were shot and killed around 2 a.m.
Friday as the cousins were
livestreaming on Instagram from the
bathroom of their apartment,
according to family members. In
March, the cousins attended a family
gathering to celebrate a younger
relative’s birthday.

Police are still investigating the
shooting, but initilly called it a
homicide-suicide. “Our heartfelt
condolences to the families of Paris
Harvey, 12, and Cuaron Harvey, 14,
who tragically passed away on March
25, 22,” the St. Louis Police
Department wrote on social media.
Paris 35 Shanise Harvey, 19, said she
didn’t know who the gun belonged to
or how her daughter found it.
“They made a video where she was
playing with a gun, but she ran away
and hit him,” Harvey said in an
interview with NBC affiliate KSDK.
“As far as I know, she then picks it up,
she grabs the bucket and picks it up,
and it starts again … It wasn’t suicide.

It was just a crazy accident.”
The cousins’ grandmother, Susan
Dyson, told the St. Louis Telegraph
she saw Instagram footage of the
shooting.
“It wasn’t a case of them arguing or
anything like that. “They played with
guns when they shouldn’t have,”
Dyson told The Telegraph. “Of course
they shouldn’t have.”I think it just
took off. It accidentally shut off.”
One of nine children, Paris was a fun
seventh grader who enjoyed doing
her hair and nails and had a beautiful
voice, family members said. They
describe Kuaron as a goofy eighth
grader who has long been able to do
backflips.
