Lagos State Police have arrested a security guard at Lekki School on charges of sexually abusing a four-year-old girl and boasting about being untouchable.
It was previously reported that after reporting the incident to the administrators of the Greater Scholar International School in Lekki district, Lagos state, security guards said “nothing will happen.”
Before he was arrested, the school was also accused of trying to cover up the issue and harassing the victim’s parents.
Lagos Police spokesman SP Benjamin Hundein confirmed the arrest of a security guard on Saturday, May 13, and denied that the police had acted reluctantly in the matter.
He told newsmen; “How exactly do you mean ‘the police are not answering?’ The suspect has been arrested and is still in custody. A medical report that would ensure a conviction is being expected.
“We don’t pander to emotions but deal with evidence to prove issues beyond reasonable doubt.”
