An entrepreneur and humanitarian from Nigeria have uncovered a school in Ajegunle, Lagos State, where impoverished children who are unable to afford school fees can pay with empty water bottles.

The man, named Oyiga Micheal, shared that students at Merit International School are asked to bring in five plastic bottles every day for recycling purposes as payment for their tuition. He has called for financial assistance on behalf of the school and its students.

Due to the financial struggles of the students’ families, the school has resorted to this unique payment method to ensure that children have access to education. This discovery sheds light on the ongoing issue of poverty and lack of access to education in Nigeria.
