Messi, De Bruyne, Haaland Shortlisted For UEFA Player Of The Year Award

The trio of Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bryune and Erling Haaland Has made the three-man shortlist for the UEFA award as the best player in Europe last season.

The Argentine superstar has left Europe to the MLS but led country to a world cup triump in Qatar back in December.

He is up against Manchester City teammates Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, who won an impressive treble under pep guardiala last season.

In the Manager’s category, cGuardiola is the favorite for the men’s coaching award after leading Man City to the UEFA Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup titles.

Also nominated were Simone Inzaghi of Inter Milan, who led his team to the Champions League final, and Luciano Spalletti, who led Napoli to the Italian league title.

The winners will be announced at the Champions League draw on Aug. 31 in Monaco.
