Lionel Messi’s Sensational strike for his former club PSG against Benfica has been named the UEFA Champions League “Goal of the Tournament” for the 2022/2023 season.

The superb goal was curled into the far corner of the net after an impressive build-up play involving Neymar and Mbappe against the Portuguese outfit.

It was also a milestone for the Argentine superstar, making him score against 40 different teams in Europe’s Elite competition.

Messi’s goal beat other nominees including Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, and Rodri, Kylian Mbappe, Karim Adeyemi among others to reach the top position.

The remarkable goal was in the group stage game against Fc Benfica in the away leg at Lisbon Stadium, in Portugal.
