Motor Accident Kills 5 Kano Students in Road (SEE PHOTOS)
When their bus was involved in an accident on Thursday, October 28, four students from Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education Kano and one from FCE Kano were claimed to be on their way to Katsina to attend the opening of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Zone A.
Comrade Abubakar, also known as Last Don, Aisha, Maryam, Tahir Dalhatu, and Abubakar Usman Tudun Wada were among the students that died.
Those who were injured are currently being treated at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), with social media requests for blood donations circulating.
Mato Zubairu, the Kano State FRSC sector commander, verified the occurrence, saying 19 people were engaged in the accident, which happened at 10 a.m. at Lambun Garba, near Bichi on the way to Katsina.
He stated the collision was a lone car accident with 15 males and four females involved, and that the victims and survivors had been transferred to the hospital.
In the meantime, the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) has declared a three-day mourning period in honor of the students’ deaths.

The Public Relations Officer for zone A released this in a signed statement. It reads;
“We received the news of the demise of five our students from Kano axis of NANS, majority students of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, following a ghastly motor accident while on their way to Katsina to attend a function,” the statement read.
“Man cannot question the act of God Almighty, October 28 remain a day to remember, as such, NANS zone A under the leadership of Comrade Adamu Kichinga declare a 3-day mourning.”
