Ronaldo Leads Al Nassr To Asian Champions League Victory Over Persepolis


Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo was in fine form as he led his Saudi Club, Al Nassr to victory over Iranian outfit, Persepolis in the Asian Champions League opener.

Al Nassr’s hard fought Victory came after the hosts had Milad Sarlak sent off for a second bookable offense seven minutes into the second half when the Iranian stepped on Ronaldo’s foot.

Al-Nassr made their numerical advantage count ten minutes later Ronaldo released Marcelo Brozovic into the penalty area who cut back for Abdulrahman Ghareeb to score the opener through a deflected strike.

Mohammed Qassem doubled Al-Nassr’s lead in the 72nd to seal the victory, lashing his shot into the roof of Alireza Beiranvand’s net from a tight angle.

The victory put Al-Nassr on top of their group, two points ahead of Hernan Crespo-coached Al-Duhail after the Qatari club were held to a 0-0 draw by Tajikistan’s FC Istiklol in Dushanbe.
