Saima was born in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. She belongs to the Pathan family.
Saima was introduced to the film world by Nagina Khanum and made her debut in the 1987 film Griban. She then starred in her second film, Khatarnaak, directed by Akram Khan.
In her early years in the film industry, she starred mainly in Punjabi films with actor Sultan Rahi, but when filmmaker Syed Noor started her career in Urdu films, she was recognized as a female main character.
Her greatest commercial success came in 1998 when she starred in the musical romance film Choorian, which grossed around $200 million, becoming Pakistan’s highest-grossing Punjabi film, thereby establishing her status as one of Lollywood’s leading actresses .
She co-starred as Tanya in the critically acclaimed revenge thriller Khilona starring Meera and Saud. In 2000, she played the role of a fearless girl in the film “Queen of the Jungle”, a Tarzan woman who lives in the jungle, swings on vines, rides an elephant, etc., directed by her husband Senur . In 2005, she played a snake in the supernatural fantasy film Naag aur Nagin. In 2011, she played the role of Munniya in the action film Bhai Log, which was a moderate box office success, grossing over Rs 10 crore. 9.7 million in the first three days of posting.
