Stop inciting Nigerians, former NANS President slams Obasanjo

Nigerian Former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) Sunday Asefon has condemned former President Olusegun Obasanjo for demanding the cancellation of last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

Asefon described Obasanjo’s letter as self-serving and provocative.

Asefon expressed disappointment and anger that a former President could throw around unverified information.

In a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, Asefon said: “If he is aggrieved because his third term ambition to rule this country could not be achieved, he should find better ways to express that and not berating INEC also writing a provocative letter to the President.

“Obasanjo is the father of electoral discrepancies and he has breached the trust we have in democracy, hence he cannot be addressing Nigerians, stop claiming to be a saint.”

Asefon said the just concluded general election was the most peaceful, transparent, void of intimidation, free and fair that has been conducted in the country so far.
