Tekunbi is back with “Labaika (Remix),” a possible hit song featuring Qdot.

Born in Epe, a town in Lagos State, Tekunbi, real name Uthman Bello, is an independent Nigerian alternative and Afro-pop/fusion songwriter and recording artist. Born on April 12, 1991, into an Islamic clergyman’s family, young Uthman first attended Lagos Model College and then the University of Ibadan, where he also attended an Arabic school, to earn his psychology degree.

In Yoruba, tigers are referred to as EKUN and are symbolic of courage, strength, and lordliness.

They are respected, steadfast, brave, and tolerant. They express themselves well and are lively. And what about someone who is descended from tigers? This is the tale of Uthman Bello, often referred to as Tekunbi in Yoruba, which means “the one who is born of a tiger.”
