The High Court in Abuja has dismissed the case filed by three people against Bola Ahmaed Tinubu, who was elected to succeed Muhammadu Buhari as the President of Nigeria, and his deputy, Kashim Shettima.

The plaintiffs, three persons named Praise Ilemona Isaiah, Paul Isaac Audu, and Anongu Moses, are alleging that Tinubu made false statements about his age and country of origin, in the document he gave The election management agency is the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec).

But today, Friday, May 26, Justice James Omotosho dismissed the charges and declared them unfounded.

Judge Omotosho also said that the petition filed by these people is a violation of the court process because there is nothing related to them and it is a matter of reason that they should bring it to court.

He also said that since the matter is about the presidential election, the court does not have any authority to put it together.

The court also fined three people who brought the complaint the sum of 15 million naira for bringing frivolous matters to the court.
