At a rally on Saturday in New Hampshire, former President Donald Trump informed the crowd that immigrants from Asia and Africa are “poisoning the blood of our country.”

The Republican frontrunner ranted about the amount of migrants coming across the U.S.-Mexico border during the campaign rally. Trump claimed Democrats have let in 15-16 million undocumented immigrants since he left office as well as abandoned his strict immigration policies, including Remain-In-Mexico and construction for the border wall.

He then attacked the opposition party for letting in immigrants from “all over the world” such as Africa and Asia, who come from “mental institutions and prisons.”

“We got a lot of work to do. They’re poisoning the blood of our country. That’s what they’ve done. They poisoned. Mental institutions and prisons all over the world, not just in South America, not just the three or four countries that we think about, but all over the world,” Trump said as his comments were met with applause by the audience.

He added, “They’re coming into our country from Africa, from Asia, all over the world. They’re pouring into our country. Nobody’s even looking at them. They just come in. The crime is going to be tremendous. The terrorism is going to be…And and we built a tremendous piece of the wall and then we’re going to build more.”

Trump used the “poisoning the blood” remark before during an interview with the right-leaning media outlet The National Pulse back in September. His comments were condemned by various civil rights advocated, including Jonathan Greenblatt, the president of the Anti-Defamation League, who labeled his comments “racist, xenophobic and despicable.”

Since launching his second presidential bid, Trump has again escalated his rhetoric on immigration, including by promising to have the United States military crack down on illegal border crossings.
