Veteran Chelsea and Brazil defender, Thiago Silva has signed a contract extension with Chelsea football club.

Silva, who has been in fine form despite his club’s indifferent season so far, signs a contract valid till 2024.

“When I signed my first contract here, it was to just do one year. Now it is already the fourth! I could not have imagined that, but really it is a very special moment for me to sign and stay at Chelsea.” he said after putting pen to paper.

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly and co-controlling owner Eghbali said: “Thiago Silva, world-class talent. His experience, quality, leadership skills are vital to our vision going forward”.

“We’re thrilled he extends his contract, we look forward to more success with him”.

At 38 years of age, the blues will enjoy the services of their best defender for at least one more season.
