Authorities on Friday identified the person killed by a New Jersey Transit train in Essex County earlier this week asa 22-year-old man from Millburn.

Timur Murtazin was hit at 12.19pm. Near the east end of the platform at the Short Hills train station in Milburn, New Jersey, transit officials said Wednesday. Train 417 left Hoboken at 1136 that morning and was due to arrive in Gladstone at 1316. NJ Transit said there were 20 people on board.

Trains in the area were delayed while the New Jersey State Police investigated. NJ Transit has released the name of the man who was hit by a train near the Short Hills Station platform. This is Timur Murtazin, 22, from Millburn.

None of the 20 passengers on the train were injured. TA Pinto offers his condolences to his family and friends.
