Mr. Michael Tolentino of PDRRMO Antique confirmed that the death toll in the Ceres bus tragedy in the town of Hamtic, Antique has reached 18.

This comes after the death of one of the patients who was initially reported to be in critical condition. The latest victim of the Ceres bus tragedy in Antique is a woman who passed away at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City.

Currently, according to the PDRRMO, there are four who are in good condition, four who are gradually improving, and two who are under close observation.

The tragedy occurred past 4 pm on December 5, where a Ceres bus from Iloilo fell into a ravine in Barangay Igbucagay, town of Hamtic.

Vallacar Transit Incorporated, which owns the said Ceres Bus, expects to cover the medical and burial expenses of the victims. According to their statement, they have personnel on standby at the hospitals where the victims are being treated for updates and additional assistance.
