The flying Eagles of Nigeria have emerged as 2-0 winners against host nation Argentina to progress to the quarterfinals at the ongoing Under 20 world cup.

The Ladan Bosso-led boys secured the victory with two second-half goals after a goalless first half dominated by the Argentines.

Nigeria took the lead just after the hour mark through a goal from dynamic winger, Ibrahim Beji Muhammed.

Argentina responded impressively to the setback as they kept mounting pressure on the flying eagles’ defence in search of the all-important equalizer.

However, it was Nigeria who struck at the death with a flying header from Substitute Riliwanu Sarki after great work by Victor Ehuwa Eletu.

They will now face South Korea or Ecuador in the next round.
