Ellie Lorenzo is described as an African American child, approximately 3 feet tall and weighing about 60 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. There is some discrepancy in the reported descriptions; her mother describes Ellie as 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 45 pounds.

Ellie was last seen around 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Casa Arroyo Apartments on Rancho Arroyo Parkway in Fremont. Under a custody agreement, she was with her father, who was supposed to return her to her mother on Friday night. However, her mother reported Ellie missing to the police around 12:25 p.m. on Friday after learning of the father’s death.

In a late-night news conference, Sgt. Kim MacDonald of the Fremont Police Department shared details about the ongoing investigation. She stated that the police received a welfare check request from Ellie’s mother, who asked them to check on her daughter at her father’s home in Fremont.

The police believe Ellie was not with her father when he was in San Francisco. Authorities from multiple agencies are conducting welfare checks across the Bay Area and Southern California, tracking leads from surveillance cameras and the deceased father’s cell phone. GPS data from the phone has indicated several locations in the Bay Area.

The San Francisco Police Department is handling the investigation into the father’s death. They have located the vehicle he was driving in San Francisco, but no further details about the circumstances of his death have been released.

The Fremont Police Department is actively reaching out to contacts found in the father’s phone to gather more information that might lead to Ellie’s whereabouts.
