VIDEO: On the set of a movie, Toyin Abraham gets into arguments with “Area Boys.”
A Popular Nigerian Actress, Toyin Abraham has clashed with “area boys” who came to disrupt the shooting of her forthcoming movie ‘America Japa’.
“Area boys” is a term used to describe groups of typically young men who set themselves up as informal security guards for areas in or near where they live.
The film star and her team were at a location in Ikate, Lagos state, for the movie shoot.
In a video shared via Instagram, Abraham confronted the men while others at the scene tried to prevent the face-off from escalating.
In the video, she could be heard asking the thugs if they gave her money to keep for them as they kept following her.
“To survive on the streets, you gotta know the street code. On the ‘America Japa’ set, these boys from the hood tried to test me,” she wrote.
“But hold up!! I unleashed my street A-game, a spicy blend of Ibadan, Edo, and Ogbomosho vibes. Let’s just say, they got a taste of my own street power! This one pass Abidoshaker.”
The filmmaker has won numerous nominations and awards to her credit. She has also put out hit movies like ‘Fate of Alakada’, ‘Elevator Baby’, ‘Prophetess’, ‘Ghost and the Tout Too’, and ‘Alakada Reloaded’.
The actress recently opened up about her past rivalry with Funke Akindele, her colleague.
