Who Is Ali Al-Shakati

A social media user wrote, “Ali Al-Shakati has been arrested for the Southport stabbings. Two little ones dead so far, one ran out in the street and died on the street! Migrants have taken over this country and literally nobody seems to give a f**k. Why aren’t the police/politicians doing anything? We are literally watching this country get taken over by these terrorists. I don’t post much anymore because the woke society will say I’m racist, but stabbing children to death whilst they enjoy a music club is sickening.”

Despite the rumors, no official confirmation of the suspect’s name has been released by authorities. Channel3Now shared a social media post claiming that Ali Al-Shakati is in police custody, but this remains unverified by Merseyside Police.

The attack targeted a “Taylor Swift yoga and dance workshop” for elementary-school-aged children, hosted by a studio on Hart Street. Colin Parry, owner of Masters Vehicle Body Repairs nearby, described the scene as horrific, with mothers arriving and screaming in distress. “It’s like a scene from a horror movie,” Parry told the PA news agency. “It’s like something from America, not like sunny Southport.”

Steve Rotheram, Mayor of Liverpool City Region, has urged the public not to spread “unconfirmed speculation and false information” and to wait for official updates. Initially, local authorities provided few details about the attack, assuring the public that “there is no wider threat.”

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) dispatched 13 ambulances and special resources to the scene. So far, “eight patients with stab injuries” have been treated at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Aintree University Hospital, and Southport and Formby Hospital. Alder Hey has asked parents to bring children in for treatment “only if it is urgent,” as the hospital’s emergency department is “currently extremely busy.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his shock and condolences on X, formerly Twitter, stating, “Horrendous and deeply shocking news emerging from Southport. My thoughts are with all those affected. I am being kept updated as the situation develops.” Home Secretary Yvette Cooper also described the incident as “very serious” and “awful,” thanking the emergency services for their “swift and courageous response.”
