Who was Emilia Rennhack NYPD, Beloved Police Officer Killed in Deer Park Nail Salon Crash

Emilia Rennhack was a New York City Police Department, NYPD officer getting her nails done at the Deer Park Nail Salon when she was hit by an out-of-control car and killed.

The accident occurred on Long Island Friday when four people were killed in the tragic accident.

An alleged drunk driver, identified as Steven Schwally of Dix Hill, was arrested and charged with DWI after the crash.

NYPD officer Emilia Rennhack has been identified as one of the four people killed when a drunk driver crashed into a nail salon in Deer Park, NY on Friday.

Rennhack, 30 years old, was getting her nails done at the salon ahead of an upcoming wedding when the tragic accident occurred.

Steven Schwally had gotten a few drinks into his system and instead of doing the responsible thing had decided to get behind the wheels of a vehicle.

He lost control of that vehicle shortly before 5 p.m. Friday and slammed into Hawaii Nail & Spa on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park.

His massive blunder proved costly, as four people in the extremely busy business were killed and nine others were injured.

Rennhart was identified as one of the deceased on Saturday, throwing her family and the police community into mourning.

According to reports, Rennhack worked in Queens 102 where her husband is a detective.

Detective Carl Rennhack and Emilia (née Kowalczyk) got married in a beautiful and classy ceremony on September 7th, 2023.

Apparently, she was preparing to show up and show out at yet another wedding when the tragic accident occurred.

Distraught police unions sent out glowing tributes of Rennhack who as praised over her competence as an officer and her warmness as a human being.

“Our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Police Officer Emilia Rennhack who was tragically killed in an off-duty incident. The DEA stands in support of her husband, an NYPD Detective, and all of her loved ones,” wrote the Detectives Endowment Association.

Other friends and colleagues of the deceased left their glowing tributes.

“The Simonsen Foundation is beyond devastated to learn about the tragic passing of Emilia Rennhack…You could always see them at our events and they ALWAYS honored Brian. We will forever miss Emilia and we will NEVER forget her,” the Detectives Simonsen Foundation wrote.

Meanwhile, the association sent similar messages of condolences to Carl Rennhack, promising to stand by him forever.

Emilia Rennhack was an accomplished officer who had been serving her nation and community with grace and composure.

It is such a shame that she has been taken from this world in such a tragic fashion, her death throwing light once more on the dangers of driving under the influence and the damage it wroughts on the lives of other innocent people.

The culprit, Schwally, would hopefully be punished to the fullest extent of the law, and our thoughts and prayers to the bereaved family and the law enforcement community.

May Mrs Rennhack rest in perfect peace.
