Oscar Alberto Perez who was a police officer, actor and inspector of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC) in Venezuela,

Pérez was famous for leading dissent against the government of Nicolas Maduro and for his participation in it attack on the Supreme Court of Justice in 2017.

On January 15, 2018, Óscar Pérez was killed during the “Operation Gideon” carried out by Venezuelan security forces.

The opposition accuses the government of extrajudicial execution, while the ruling party considered it a successful operation against what it called a group “terrorist”.

Around five hundred agents of the Venezuelan security forces, including the Bolivarian National Guard and the Bolivarian Intelligence Service, they raided a hideout in El Junquito, Caracas, where they were Óscar Pérez and six companions.

Danahis Vivas is the wife of Óscar, a former CICPC inspector killed by the authorities in 2018.

Together they had three children, whom she describes as her only genuine love. Danahis’s life has been deeply marked by tragic death of Pérez and his fight for the recognition and identification of his body.
