17 Villagers Killed As Gunmen Attacks Community In Plateau
At least 17 villagers have reportedly been killed by unknown gunmen who attacked a community in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to reports gathered by Punch, the attack occured in Heipang community of the Local Government Area in the early hours of Thursday.
A grieving parent in the community, Julius Pam confirmed the attack to The PUNCH in Jos on Thursday.
Pam said, “Good morning sir. On a sad news, there was an attack early this morning in Heipang community. A total of 17 people were killed including my brother,his wife and children, all killed.”
The spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred could not be reached for comment but sources at the command headquarters said security operatives had been deployed to the community.
