In the Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State, troops from Operation Hadin Kai and the Civilian Joint Task Force raided the Islamic State West Africa Province stronghold, killing 41 terrorists—among them a commander named Abu Zahra—while others escaped for their lives.
According to a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama on Sunday, the troops eliminated the terrorists in a silent intelligence-led midnight offensive coordinated by Maj. Gen. Shaibu Waidi, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 1, in the villages of Mukdolo, GUPDILO, and Bone, located between Dikwa, Ngala, and Mafa.
